The Upcoming processor from the Intel series i.e the Intel Core i9-10900K benchmark results seems to have leaked into the internet and the results are pretty saddening for Intel. The results although show better performance in the Single core, when it comes to Multi-core it still falls below the AMD’s Flagship Ryzen 9 3900X which was released back in July 2019. The Comet Lake chip in blend with a MSI Z490-S01 motherboard piled on a solid single-center score yet at the same time stammered behind the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X in the multi-core test. So, why is it so ? Let’s discuss in detail below.
|Intel Core i9-10900K||AMD Ryzen 9 3900X|
|Cores/threads/TDP||10/20/125 W||12/24/105 W|
|Single-core score||1,408 points||1,278 points|
|Multi-core score||11,296 points||12,113 points|
Now, we all know that after the release of Ryzen series from AMD, the gap in performance between the AMD and Intel chips became broader and broader. Now, with the release of i9-10900k, Intel aims to narrow down the gap between the performance benchmarks of the two processors.
However, AMD’s CEO has already announced that the Ryzen 10 series processors will be coming to the market this year which is a real bad sign for Intel. Intel has to really up their game inorder to compete with the Ryzen series which is slowly looking to take over the Hardware market worldwide. Most of the desktops in the world have already moved to the latest Ryzen series. However, for the laptops, Intel processors still remain the primary option. We have to note down here that the Intel Processor is 10-core 20-thread while the AMD’s Ryzen 9 3900X is 12-core 24-thread.
According to a recent leak about the Ryzen 10 Processors, it’s expected to increase the IPC performance by upto 15%. Higher clock speeds including the increase in the performance would mean that the single core lead of the Intel would fade away within no time. And we do not see any further updates about the upcoming processors from Intel too.
The Price Factor..
One more thing that works as a huge favor for the AMD Processors is the price. Intel processors are generally expensive when compared to the equivalent processors in AMD. At present, Ryzen 9 3900X is on sale at a price of around $450 while the Intel Core i9-10900K is set to launch at a price of $560. There’s also AMD’s Zen 3 Vermeer processors lined up for the release fall this year which would spoil the game for Intel this year. So, 2020 is also the year of AMD? Well, we never know. What do you think ??
